Did You Know? Currently, 41 states have passed remote notarization laws. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, several states that have not fully implemented RON or with pending legislation have issued special orders authorizing Notaries to perform remote notarizations early due to the emergency.
Did You Know? Tennessee is the sixth state to authorize Notaries Public to perform marriage ceremonies. The others before are Florida, Maine, Montana, Nevada, and South Carolina. Tennessee Notaries join a long list of other designated officiants of weddings, including ministers, preachers, pastors, priests, rabbis, spiritual leaders of every religious belief, members of county legislative bodies, county mayors, judges, chancellors, former chancellors and judges, etc.
