The Memphis Urban League in collaboration with the National Urban League will be hosting two parent focus groups on Wednesday, March 2nd. Participants will receive a $75 gift card if selected. Limited spaces available for parents of students in Shelby County and local charter school systems.

Faith-based Mental Health Seminar
Spirit Realm Divine Manifestation Ministries is hosting their Second Annual, Faith-based Mental Health Awareness Seminar on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.  Located at the The Rock Church, 1760 Stateline Road, Southaven, MS 

This seminar is for pastors, ministry leaders, parents, professionals and congregants that would like to gain more understanding about mental heath, barriers between church and community, locating resources or interested in starting a counseling ministry at their church. 

Topics include: 

•Breaking Mental Health Barriers

•Working with Children

•Helping Teens Deal with Crises

• Connecting Adults with Resources

•The Role of the Pastor 

•Bridging the Gap between Church & Community

DESCRIPTION The Family Service Worker will be responsible for assisting the Supervisor to provide social work/case management services to parents and children from three (3) to five (5) years of age.

QUALIFICATIONS *High School Diploma or GED; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Social Services or related field preferred. *One (1) or more year of experience in social service/education setting. *Bi-lingual candidates in Spanish preferred to provide translation services to clients. *Knowledge of community resources. *Ability to work effectively with parents and staff to improve the quality of life for their children. *Ability to work with all organizational levels while maintaining the highest ethical standards, to perceive and deal with sensitive issues while maintaining objectivity & confidentiality, and to work as a team player assisting all employees as necessary. *Good administrative and organizational skills to determine workload priorities to maintain accurate information so that it is readily researched and retrieved with a strong attention to detail. *Strong interpersonal, communication (oral and written) to include good reading skills.
