Grocery Giveaway – Saturday, March 23rd
 
Save Our Sons and Daughters Inc. will be giving away limited grocery items from 10:30 am until 12 noon.
 
Families that need assistance can visit Right Direction Christian Ministries Church at 3680 Rhodes Ave. Memphis TN 38111, fill out a short form and receive mostly non-perishable items based on family size while supplies last. It will be on a first come, first served basis.
 
Each 4th Saturday of the month, these grocery giveaways will take place. In addition, there is a clothes closet that may be useful to those who may need clothing. Families that are in an emergency situation can call the organization at any time for possible assistance at 901-244-5887. Staff will return the call in a timely manner.

FREE BBQ Alert! Allegiant is buying lunch downtown today.

As a thank you to the city, Allegiant Airlines is inviting everyone out for FREE Central BBQ today from 11 AM-1 PM. The first 50 people to arrive will receive $100 Allegiant vouchers and you’ll also be entered to win 10 pairs of round-trip tickets.
 
They will also be officially donating $5,000 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to help them continue the fight against childhood cancer and $15,000 to go towards helping the Memphis community in general. Be sure to get to Central’s Downtown location and enjoy free food, cool Allegiant swag, and a chance for a free trip!

The Mid-South Food Bank has 500 vouchers for our FREE food distribution, Friday, in Orange Mound. Only 54 households have signed up.

City University teams up with Mid-South Food Bank!
“We are bringing over 30,000 pounds of food to heavily affected areas in Memphis. Today, we distributed at City University in Whitehaven. Tomorrow, we will be at Orange Mound Community Center at 2 o’clock. We will then take it to Frayser and distribute at the Ed Rice Community Center at 2 o’clock on Thursday.
All clients will need a government issued ID and a MLGW bill with the matching name or address of their ID.  If you know anyone in need, send them our way!”

If you have  school-aged children, in need of breakfast and lunch this summer, simply text “FOOD” to 877877 and receive a message with the closest location where they can get free summer meals.

On five Wednesday evenings in May, June, and July, Oak Court Mall will be hosting a variety of live music acts, along with food sampling, gift card giveaways, goodies from their merchants, selfie stations, and more! These events will take place from 5-7 PM, and are free and open to the public.

We also have reserved beds available for men and women on probation with no income.  Food and clothing is available now for anyone, including working people as well.
