Job Summary: Greet families visiting the organization and provide supervision for children in the child care areas, maintaining organizational standards, preparation of reports and documentation.

Responsibilities:

 Provides welcome, referral and orientation for clients and families.

o Welcome children and their families who come to the organization for services.

o Work closely with direct service providers, linking children and adults with appropriate staff.

o Provide agency orientation for new client families.

 Provide trauma-informed care and engagement for children while parent(s) are meeting with staff and service providers.

 Monitor and maintain the child play areas for safety and appearance per organization standards.

 Assists receptionist with monitoring children in lobby play area.

 Complete required reports, documentation and data entry.

 Attends training and workshops on trauma and child care related issues as directed by supervisor.

 Handles client and office grocery ordering, pickup, stocking, inventorying, reporting, and maintenance of break room, following required standards.

 Serves as backup for Receptionist, handling clients, visitors and telephone calls.

 Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

 High school diploma or GED required.

 Minimum of two years experience in child care, social services or other related field.

Memphis Heritage Christian School is offering free dinner aftercare for students in the Nutbush area. Students will enjoy a safe place for after school care, tutoring, homework help, extracurricular activities choice and free dinner.  Extracurricular activities include ballet, soccer, gymnastics, karate, dance, orchestral studies and culinary arts.  Students may also participate in activities and have dinner on the weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS*

Calvary Place Child Care is seeking an energetic and qualified candidate for the position of Executive Director. The Executive Director is responsible for the administration and daily coordination of a nationally accredited early childhood education program. The position reports to the Calvary Place Board of Directors and regularly communicates on the overall functioning of the early childhood program. The candidate must be able to supervise teaching staff, coordinate student enrollment, procure all supplies, and maintain fiscal responsibility. She/he must also coordinate efforts to maintain accreditation and facility inspection/license standards.
Calvary Place Child Care is an early childhood education learning program where children experience a faith-based atmosphere, in a diverse setting including families from many religions, ethnicities, nationalities, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Calvary Place was recently reaccredited through NAEYC and has remained a three star program since the star rating program began. Calvary Place serves children from six weeks to five years old. The children are taught and nurtured by a dedicated staff of 26 women with a combined experience of 174 years at Calvary Place Child Care. The staff provide a consistent, warm environment with very little turnover. Calvary Place is affiliated with Calvary Episcopal Church and is located on the 1st floor of the church in downtown Memphis.

 

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field with strong management and organizational skills. A Master’s Degree is preferred but not required. The successful candidate will have at least three years experience in the administration of an early childhood program and at least three years experience teaching in a child-care classroom. Effective written and oral skills are essential. A warm personality will help develop positive nurturing relationships with students, parents, staff, church and community. The ideal candidate will see this position as a ministry to both staff and the families enrolled.
