Another amazing Comprehensive Grant Writing Workshop will be held at Grace Church of the Nazarene, 8979 E. Shelby Drive, Memphis, TN 38125. The cost is $120.00/per person and includes all training material, continental breakfast, lunch, a list of over 500 funders, tax forms, and a high impact and interactive grant writing session. JOB TITLE: Director of Grants and Contracts Management

SUMMARY:  The Friends For Life’s Director of Grants and Contracts Management will serve as the agency’s point of contact to engage in activities necessary to write grants and manage contracts to support the mission of Friends For Life.



Grants and Contract Management

Research grants funding to support mission of Friends For Life. Write grant proposals to support mission of Friends For Life. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual grant and contract reports. Oversee grant contracts to ensure timely earning of contracts. Maintain open communications with grant funders. Review all contracts for accuracy prior to execution. Maintain all grant and contract information in FR50. Complete reports as required that show annual levels of grants submitted and funded. Maintain electronic file of all grant requests, proposals and contracts and other grant/contract related materials. Other duties as assigned.


Take lead in ensuring agency-wide evaluation program is maintained. Ensure all program assessments are completed on schedule, data entered into CAREWare and program reports completed on schedule. Update evaluation forms as necessary. Complete all reports necessary to maintain up-to-date evaluation data. Analyze all data to ensure proposed program outcomes are being met. Provide accurate, complete and timely data entry and reporting of all relevant program and consumer data into CAREWare, HMIS, Evaluweb and/or other reporting systems as requested by supervisor.



Manage all aspects of the Friends For Life website. Create, write and distribute an agency e-newsletter monthly.



Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; Master’s degree preferred. Five years grant research and grant writing experience preferred. Proven success in grant writing and securing funding. Five years of experience in the development of programs to meet the needs of persons with HIV/AIDS preferred. Nonprofit background preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years management/supervisory experience preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of MS Windows and MS office suite with an emphasis on MS Word and MS Outlook. Strong analytical and research skills. Ability to perceive and deal with sensitive issues while maintaining strict confidentiality. Ability to maintain objectivity. Public speaking skills. An ability to work well with all types of people. Flexibility.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Works under the general direction of the Deputy Director to develop and manage grant funding opportunities for the Parks and Neighborhoods Division. Researches new available grant funding opportunities. Determines feasibility of developing programs to supplement local annual budget allocations. Coordinates application process to enhance opportunity for funding. Monitors on-going grant projects and prepares reports of grant activity status. Ensures compliance with grant requirements through communicating with funders, auditors and the Office of Contract Compliance. Analyzes trends in allocation of funds and audits data collected to ensure accuracy. Coordinates operations with Parks and Neighborhoods’
Office of Business Affairs throughout annual budgeting process. Reports on progress of grant projects and responds to general questions regarding funding opportunities and requirements.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:  Performs additional functions (essential or otherwise) which may be assigned.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to communicate clearly both orally and in writing. Requires the ability to operate general office equipment such as a computer and telephone.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in an office environment. Some travel to meetings across the City and periodically outside the City of Memphis is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration, Public Relations or Journalism, or any closely related field and three (3) years’ experience writing, editing, and managing grants; or any combination of experience and training which enables one to perform the essential job functions.

Proven effectiveness in internet-based and market research strongly preferred. Educational experience and proven track record of successful federal grant procurement is preferred.


Women’s Foundation for a Greater Memphis has an opening for a Grants & Program Manager.   The Grants & Program Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the grant-making process in support of the Foundation’s goals and objectives, as well as providing technical assistance to grantee partners.   This position is also responsible for the management and coordination of the various grant making programs, special projects, and volunteer management.  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.  Two years of experience grants management and/or program evaluation.  Experience working with nonprofit organizations.
