CUSTODIAL WORKER – PARKS – BARTLETT RECREATION CENTER

This position is responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, appearance and cleaning of the Bartlett Recreation Center.  The employee will be required to clean the interior of building including mopping, waxing and buffing of floors and other non-carpeted areas; cleaning of restrooms, interior and exterior glass surfaces, kitchen and break room areas; parking lots and any other areas as assigned. The employee will be required to vacuum carpeted areas; empty wastepaper baskets in offices and replace liners; empty large trash cans and change liners (up to 55 gallon containers) in offices and outside of building; change out paper shredder liners; clean cigarette receptacles; collect paper products for recycling and perform other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

Requires a High School diploma or GED. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must pass a background and driver’s license check and physical exam, including a drug screen.

Special Requirements

Will work in a non-smoking work environment. Bartlett resident preferred, but not required. Must be physically able to perform active and strenuous work activities, both inside and outside of building, which may involve some heavy lifting requirements. Must be able to multi-task assignments and work with limited supervision. Will work on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. May be required to work some weekday evenings, holidays and special events.

Building and Grounds Operation Manager Job Description

Position Summary:    The Building and Grounds Operation Manager is responsible to Agricenter International’s President, Board of Directors and the Shelby County Agricenter Commission.  The Building and Grounds Operations Manager will be a proactive, hands-on manager, responsible for day to day maintenance of the Agricenter main facility, as well as the upkeep of the outlying property surrounding the facility and roadways.  These jobs are to be performed with the cooperation of the janitorial, landscaping and support staff, as well as with the cooperation of the farm management.

Reports to:  President of Agricenter

Salary Range:  Will depend on experience

Education:  Minimum 4 years college or trade school equivalent or military service trained in operation management.  (Can be waived based on experience)

Experience:  Minimum 5 years experience in Building and Grounds Operations

Preferred Skills:  Electrical, plumbing, general construction, employee management

Additional Duties:  

1. Managing the janitorial, setup and security staff on a daily basis

2. Ordering janitorial and repair supplies

3. Providing assistance and support to the set up, duration and the tear down of special events at Agricenter International.

a. Addressing the electrical needs of special events

b. Scheduling staff to work special events

c. Ensuring the building, including walls, restrooms, floors, etc., and surrounding areas are clean and well-maintained.

4. Ensuring maintenance and repairs to the Agricenter exhibition facility, tenant offices, the Farmer’s Market and equipment are scheduled and completed in a timely and professional matter.

5. Scheduling and leading quarterly safety/fire procedure meetings with tenants, and communicating these procedures to show coordinators.

6. Managing the building and grounds staff, and following up to ensure assigned jobs are performed in a proper manner.

7. Scheduling inmates and corresponding with the AOC.

8. Communicating professionally with other members of management on areas of concern.

9. Keeping accurate records and completing necessary reports.

10. Working varied hours, some nights and weekends included, based on scheduled events.

Janitorial Supervisor

Under the leadership of the Senior Director of Commercial Contracts, the Janitor Supervisor will be responsible for the on-site supervision and administration of Memphis Goodwill personnel assigned to the Hilton Janitorial Contract. The Janitorial Supervisor will assist in the hiring, time management, training and evaluation of Goodwill Janitorial personnel to ensure compliance with all Hilton contract requirements. The Janitorial Supervisor will ensure compliance with OSHA Federal Guidelines and required MSDS training. The Janitorial Supervisor must be knowledgeable of cleaning products and appropriate cleaning procedures. The Janitorial Supervisor will perform administrative duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Commercial Contracts. The Janitorial Supervisor will evaluate various custodial cleaning methods as they relate to offices, cafeteria, training areas, classrooms, and all restrooms–including carpet, hard floors, furnishings and walls; and identify areas where quality training is needed. The Janitorial Supervisor must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The Janitorial Supervisor must be able to effectively relate to individuals with various barriers to employment, cultural backgrounds and disabilities.
