#Volunteer Opportunity: Teach an Adult to Read (via Literacy Mid-South)

Adult Tutor Training

Saturday, Jan 25, 2020

Can you read this? Many adults in the Mid-South cannot. You can make a difference! With just 2 hours a week for 6 months, you can help teach an adult to read. You’ll meet one on one with an adult at a Memphis Public Library, Germantown or North Mississippi library. Our clients come to us in order to reach a variety of goals. Some may want to be able to get into a High School Equivalency (HiSet) class, help their children with homework, read the Bible, or get a driver’s license.

You’ll attend a one-day training that will go over how our program works, why teaching adults is different than children, and the basics to get you started tutoring an adult basic education learner or English language learner.
