The Center for Southern Literary Arts Presents

the First Memphis Literary Arts Festival

Founded and presented by the Center for Southern Literary Arts (southernliteraryarts.org), the first annual Memphis Literary Arts Festival (memphisliteraryartsfestival.org) will take place June 16, 2018 and strives to be a world-class festival celebrating storytelling and the city’s unique arts, culture, and historical legacies. The event is free and open to the public, and will feature a street fair, musical performances, and literary work from a broad cross-section of storytellers. #MLAF is proud to make its home in the historic Edge District, an intersection of industry and culture since the city’s earliest days. By featuring renowned, award-winning authors from across the globe alongside exceptional local writers, artists, and civic leaders, we celebrate the stories of those folks most marginalized by region, race, class, gender, sexuality, ability, and/or citizenship.

The CSLA is a 501(c)(3) organization and was founded in 2017 by writers & native Memphians Jamey HatleyMolly Rose Quinn, and Zandria F. Robinson.
