3RD ANNUAL BICYCLE RACE/RIDE TO HONOR LIZ LAVELLE

PRESS RELEASE

Agape Child & Family Services, Engineered Medical Systems (Title Sponsor), Cirque du Velos (CdV) and Harding Academy are pleased to announce the third annual Liz’s Ride for Agape, charity bicycle race/ride will be held in memory of Liz LaVelle on September 19, 2015. The competitive ride begins at 8 a.m. at Forestview Church of Christ (5425 N. Watkins Street, Memphis), with other activities continuing throughout the morning. Liz LaVelle, a Harding Academy graduate, was the third child of Dr. David and Jenny LaVelle. She lived with enthusiasm and a passion for life.  Liz’s special passion was for foster children and children with learning disorders. She helped convince her parents to become foster parents and worked very closely with her parents to take care of three foster children during her senior year. Liz was studying psychology at Lipscomb University in Nashville with the goal of eventually working at Agape Child and Family Services to help foster care children with learning problems.

Liz passed away tragically in 2010 a month after her 20th birthday, while driving to Nashville to see her brother.  Her loss left a very large void in the lives of those who knew her, but her love and passion for children in need lives on in the hearts of those she touched. That is why CdV and Harding Academy have chosen to honor Liz’s memory and support Agape in their work to help children and families in need.
