Volunteer Plant Sale  –  April 17 & 18, 2015

Friday, April 17, 9am to 5pm & Saturday, April 18, 9am to 1pm.

Volunteers have grown several thousand native and wildlife-friendly plants at Lichterman Nature Center for this once-a-year sale.

Experts will be on hand to answer questions about the plants offered, as well as other gardening topics.

There will be a large selection of butterfly plants including the best selection of milkweeds in Memphis!

For 2015, Lichterman has a special selection of native perennials, shade plants and ferns that are hard to find. Plants like Indian pink, wood poppy, Virginia blue bells, trillium… and more! These are lovely choices for a home landscape that needs some native plants for balance.

We also have a large group of perennials for both sun and shade To help in shopping we have our plants lists again that will tell you what we have for specific gardening challenges and objectives.

• Thousands of native, wildlife friendly and/or edible plants

• Over 200 different plant varieties grown by Lichterman Volunteers

• Butterfly plants including six types of milkweeds (larval food for Monarchs) along with 64 types of plants providing larval food for other butterflies

•More Salvias than ever before including Blue Angel

•Shade plants

• Hard-to-find woodland plants including Indian Pink, Virginia Bluebells, Columbines, Dwarf Larkspur and Wood Poppy… all great additions to Mid-South yards

Half Price Sale Saturday, April 18, 2-4pm

Remaining native, wildlife-friendly, selections from the Lichterman Salvia Collection, heirloom plants and other plants will be offered at ½ regular price.
