Position Summary:
The Digital Marketing and Design Specialist will provide the Brooks Museum’s Marketing Department with strategy, development and implementation of all digital marketing platforms, including email, website, blog and social media.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing, producing or converting existing files into digital assets used in a variety of online platforms supporting all exhibitions, public programs, and major fundraising initiatives. Graphics are used in the Brooks website, external websites, e-blasts, paid online advertising, social media platforms, Facebook posts and advertisements, Brooks blog and Brooks app.
Maintain brooksmuseum.org, including developing graphics and content via sitewrench content digital management system. This also includes but not limited to development of landing pages, search engine optimization, form creation, conversion tracking, website analytics and e-commerce. A close working relationship would be required between this position and the Senior Graphic Designer who oversees the Brooks brand identity and the overall design of the Brooks website and all other digital presence.
Manage and execute e-marketing campaigns (content and graphics) including the following: maintaining email schedule, managing lists within email service provider platform, proofing and circulation of all emails prior to publishing, measuring effectiveness of campaigns, and modifying campaigns for improved performance.
Monitor open and click-thru rates, optimizing campaigns throughout time. Grow lists by proactively adding new addresses from ticket buyers, etc.
Manage and execute all digital advertising, which includes identifying target markets according to marketing plan, developing content and graphics, and gathering analytics for all digital advertising. Must have clear understanding of online search and display campaigns in Google Adwords, and Facebook ad conversion tracking.
Develop and implement highly targeted social media plans. Determine appropriate social media platforms to use and appropriate content/tone. Develop content and graphics as well as measurement strategy/analytics. Adhere to established timelines and schedules.
Responsible for creating content and formatting / posting blog entries in re: Brooks.
Maintain an editorial schedule.
Listen to our social media audiences, and engaging with the public as directed.
Maintain Brooks app content and manage further development of the app as necessary.
Stay abreast of current trends in e-marketing and new media for marketing, assess opportunities and develop recommendations.
Represent the Brooks at community events and meetings. Will be required to attend and assist selected Museum events outside of normal business hours.
The position is responsible for selecting and supervising photography intern.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design, Digital Arts or Marketing.
2. Minimum two years experience in a design studio or ad agency environment or similar creating graphics and content / leading digital marketing campaigns.
3. Creative and engaging writer, especially within the restrictions of social media platforms, while strictly adhering to project guidelines for tone and voice.
4. Advanced knowledge of CS Creative Suite Programs and Microsoft Office Programs.
5. Working knowledge of HTML/XHTML, CSS and their impact on creative executions; must be well-versed in web technology, social media, management Google Ad Words, Facebook conversion and tracking, knowledge of best practices & web standards.
6. Must have a clear understanding of grid-layout and theory and typography.
Skills and abilities:
1. Strong communication skills.
2. Video creation and editing is a plus but not required.
3. Critical thinker, with the ability to distill actionable insights from data.
4. Ability and desire to stay on the cutting edge of industry best practices, including frequent review of relevant blogs, websites, and social media.
5. Multi-task and work on several assignments at a time.
6. Meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
7. Strong organizational and time management skills are a must.
8. Must thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
9. An interest in non-profit arts organizations is a plus.

Position Summary:
The Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for the conceptualization, strategy, and implementation of all design solutions that meet marketing strategies from concept to completion. The role of this position is to brainstorm and come up with ideas and will generally be the most senior ‘hands-on’ creative for a design project or creative campaign. This position oversees the work of Graphic Design Interns and freelance Graphic Designers.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible for the conceptualization and execution of all exhibition and public program identities; larger museum branding campaigns including membership and fundraising events such as Memphis Wine + Food Series; as well as other Museum-associated collateral such as the bi-monthly Brooks calendar, stationery, and Brushmark Restaurant and Catering materials.
Drive projects through design, layout and production to successful completion, including all print materials (invitations, postcards, event guides, brochures, flyers, posters, didactic and display graphics, exhibition catalogues, and various forms of advertisements among others) as well as title and sponsor walls, other exhibition signage and didactics as necessary, and museum way finding.
This position is the most senior ‘hands-on’ creative that oversees the Brooks brand identity and the overall design of the Brooks website and all other digital presence. The position will be responsible for maintaining a close working relationship with the Digital Marketing and Design Specialist who executes the production and/or converts existing design files into digital assets (HTML communication, social media assets, website, etc.)
Coordinate, maintain, and track design, approval, proofreading and production processes
and schedules of all graphic design projects for the Marketing department and other
Museum departments (Exhibitions, Membership, Development, Education, Visitor Services, Museum Store and Brushmark Restaurant).
Troubleshoot production issues.
Negotiate and purchase all print production (with the supervision of the Director of Marketing)
Oversees all aspects of graphic production in the department, including those assigned to the freelancers and or graphic designers, and interns.
Maintain professional relationships with print vendors, advertising reps, museum contacts, other outside vendors and acts as liaison between department and inter-department team members.
Responsible for maintaining and enhancing the Brooks brand identity, and assists Director of Marketing in the continued development and implementation of the Brooks Style Guide.
Represent the Brooks at community events and meetings. Will be required to attend and assist selected Museum events outside of normal business hours.

- F.A. in graphic design with experience that includes web/interactive, print, illustration, photography; video is a plus but not required.
- Minimum five years experience in professional/commercial graphic design production,
and graphics project management.
- Advanced knowledge of CS Creative Suite Programs and Microsoft Office programs.
- Knowledge of HTML/XHTML, CSS; must be well-versed in web technology, social media, best practices & web standards.
- Must have a solid understanding of grid-layout and theory.
- Solid understanding of typography.
Skill and ability to:
