The Bartlett Performing Arts and Conference Center is seeking an employee who will work under the general supervision of the Director to market facility rentals and ticketed events based on a plan approved by the Director. Duties include, but are not limited to: developing and maintaining a database of contacts for prospective facility rentals, group ticket sales and annual sponsors and other contributors; making direct sales contacts to secure and schedule rental events; coordinating and implementing marketing strategies for ticketed events, including direct mail, advertising for print and electronic media, in-house displays, promotional banners, placement of publicity, scheduling of speaking engagements, and the creation of promotional artwork when feasible; developing and implementing strategies for special revenue initiatives including annual sponsorship campaign or fund raising projects; box office sales, processing and distribution of event tickets, and procedural duties for inventory control; assisting with assigned performance events; performing other duties as may be assigned. Must possess clear and concise verbal communication skills; good writing skills; ability to deal successfully with the public; ability to plan and coordinate activities; skill in performing detail work requiring a high degree of accuracy; knowledge of office computer software and the ability to use special software applications, especially Access, Excel, PowerPoint and desktop publishing for graphic design; ability to work independently; ability to self-motivate.
Requires a high school diploma plus a minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in Business, Marketing, Sales, Advertising, Event Planning, or a combination of training, education and experience; valid driver’s license; experience dealing with the public, especially in a customer service or sales capacity; professional experience requiring the use of a PC and office software. Some college, inside or outside sales experience and events planning experience preferred, but not required. Must pass a driver’s license and background check and a physical exam, including a drug screen.
Will work primarily indoors in a smoke-free environment. Outside work in all weather conditions is required on the occasion of sales calls. May be required to lift items of 20 lbs., or less. Bartlett resident preferred, but not required.
