Volunteers Needed for the 500K Book Giveaway!
Literacy Mid-South and First Book to distribute 500,000 children’s books in the Mid-South
It’s the largest book distribution in the history of Shelby County!
In March, Literacy Mid-South is teaming up with First Book to bring 500,000 books to Memphis to be distributed to schools, churches, nonprofits, and teachers.
We need one hundred volunteers to help sort books and prepare them for distribution.
Volunteers will help with various tasks including organizing boxed inventory (books), affixing shipping labels to boxes, and preparing orders for group book pick-ups. Volunteers must be able to stand for the duration of their shift, as well as lift up to 30 pounds. Volunteers must be 18 and up.
Volunteer opportunities are available to individuals and groups on Monday, March 9-Friday, March 13.
