Consumer Housing Specialist – Full Time, Memphis, TN.

Responsible to assist the State in facilitating the Real Choice Systems Change grant activities in Region VII, with emphasis in Memphis, Tennessee (Shelby County). Able to perform other duties related to the enhanced linkage between consumers and affordable, accessible housing and reduction of the Stigma associated with Mental Illness. Minimum

Qualifications – Mental Health consumer willing to publicly identify, preferred experience in Mental Health Advocacy, computer skills, general office skills and communication skills. The Consumer Housing Specialist will be responsible for monitoring and managing the Recovery Within Reach website and make affordable housing updates as needed. Set up and conduct outreach meetings every month to educate mental health consumers, consumer families, Peer Center managers, homeless shelter staff, social service mental health providers and case managers and PATH case managers, regarding legal rights of people with disabilities, housing eligibility criteria, tenant rights and responsibilities, technical assistance and the housing resource system tools available.
